Work Visas for Portugal
Priority to Highly Skilled Workers
Consulates are giving priority to visas for highly qualified functions and visas for short-term secondments (less than 1 year).
Working visas for the remaining functions have been precluded in this phase of economic recovery.
It is important to note that the issuing of visas varies from country to country depending on the local pandemic situation.
Covid Tests when Traveling to Portugal
U.S.A., Brazil and Other CPLP With Mandatory Test
Passengers coming from the U.S. or Portuguese-speaking countries must present, at the time of departure, a proof of the covid 19 (PCR) test with a negative result, which must be performed within 72 hours before boarding.
Travelling to Portugal
Priority to Residents
- Between EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, United Kingdom and Switzerland.
- Direct flights from Algeria, Canada, South Korea, Morocco, Tunisia and China (subject to the principle of reciprocity).
- Essential travel from and to the USA or Portuguese-speaking countries, provided they are for: work, study, family reunion, health or humanitarian reasons (subject to the principle of reciprocity).
